Bean to Cup Coffee Machines

The beans you put in your coffee maker aren't just seeds. They're full of flavor. Bean-to-cup machines allow you to determine the quality of your brew at the click of a button.

They utilize a tank of water that is loaded from the front, and a pump to ensure the proper pressure during the grinding and brewing process. Some also offer perfectly textured milk to make barista-style drinks.

Reservoir

The majority of coffee machines come with a water reservoir that stores the hot water used during brewing. The reservoir is usually constructed of glass or plastic and is inside the machine. Some models come with a water filtering system that ensures that the coffee is free of impurities.

When you switch on the machine, the machine's pump pumps water from the dispenser through the grinder and into a filter basket. After the coffee beans are ground then a spray head pushes them through the filter before dumping them into the cup below. As the hot water drips into the carafe, it passes through the filter leaving an unintense layer (ground coffee with a velvety sheen).

Some coffee makers that are bean-to-cup can create milky drinks such as cappuccinos or lattes. If you are a fan of these drinks, look for one with an integrated steam wand. This allows you to make such a drink with the push of a button!

Hot-Water Tube

It may appear simple for an espresso maker to transform the water in a cup into a cup of hot, steaming java, but the machine is actually doing very clever work. It starts by taking the cold water that you pour into the reservoir and passes it through a tube which is connected on one side to the hole in the bottom of the reservoir, and on the other, to the heating element in aluminum.

The water in the aluminum tube starts to boil when you switch on the machine. The turbulence generated by the boiling water creates bubbles that rise through the hole in the bottom of the reservoir and up the exit hose. Hot water rides through these bubbles, advancing through the tube before settling into the coffee pot.

If your coffee maker is making strange noises, it could be that the one-way valve malfunctioning. It is either in the drilled hole in the reservoir's bottom or in the aluminum heating tub. Without this valve the boiling water would return to the reservoir instead of rising through the tube.

As the hot water drips down the sides, it is carrying the flavor of the ground coffee beans. The coffee beans that are ground soak up this water and release the oils that create the flavor of a delicious cup of joe.

Grinder

The grinder in a coffee maker grinds beans prior to making coffee to ensure freshest taste. This is vital because ground coffee loses flavour and aroma very quickly.
