Falls are a major concern for senior citizens. In the United States, one out of every three people 65 and older fall each year. Injuries from falls are very serious and can cause a variety of health problems.

Falls can also be very difficult to diagnose and treat. They can be caused by medical conditions like arthritis, heart disease and stroke, Parkinson’s, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), vision loss, low blood pressure and diabetes, among others.

It can be impossible to eliminate the risk of falls entirely, but a quick response and help after the fall can significantly mitigate the harm done by a fall. Studies have shown that the faster the person who has a fall is helped, the better they recover.

A fall monitor can be a helpful tool for seniors with medical alert systems to help them get help in the event of a fall or other emergency. The alarm can detect a change in air pressure and movement that signifies a fall, and it will immediately send an alert to someone on your care list or to a SureSafe operator with 24/7 monitoring.
