"Manga" refers to a style of comedian or graphic novel that originated in Japan. Much like anime, manga covers a variety of genres and is a popular form of leisure both inside Japan and internationally. The word "manga" is commonly used to describe comics and graphic novels created in Japan or in a style heavily influenced by Japanese manga.

Here are some key characteristics of manga:

Art Style: Manga is understood for its distinctive artwork fashion, which regularly contains expressive characters with massive, emotive eyes and well-defined facial expressions. The art can differ widely, starting from highly detailed and realistic to more stylized and exaggerated.

Genres: Manga spans a giant number of genres, catering to a diverse audience. Common genres include motion, romance, fantasy, science fiction, horror, thriller, and slice of life, among others.

Format: Manga is often serialized in magazines before being compiled into volumes. It is read from right to left, which is the normal Japanese studying order. When manga is translated for worldwide audiences, it could retain this format or be flipped to read from left to right, depending on the writer's decision.

Demographics: Manga is commonly categorized based mostly on track demographics:

Shonen: Aimed at a young male audience, often that includes action, journey, and friendship themes.

Shojo: Geared towards a younger feminine audience, incessantly exploring romance, relationships, and personal development.

Magic Emperor : Targeted at adult men, typically with extra mature themes and complicated storytelling.

Josei: Geared in path of adult women, that includes more mature and realistic themes.

Variety: Manga could be a one-shot (a standalone story), a brief series, or a long-running collection that spans multiple volumes.
