A sneak peak at the every day ‘footsteps’ of my minds’ eye
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLFWolves must get a bad rap with this phrase. I mean, are ALL wolves hungry?
It makes em sound like they are just running around ravenous all the time. Can you imagine? Like that Hungry Hippo game…Who remembers that one?
I found an instructional video for it on YouTube. The recommended age is 4. I’m certain the 4-year-olds nowadays don’t need instructions. Hell, when I WAS 4 we didn’t have YouTube and I figured it out on my own.
I also found a video humans playing a real live version of the game. This I had to post so please read to the end for further entertainment.
I DIGRESS.We’re talking WOLVES. I thought to myself today, I am really hungry. Then I thought of the hungry like the wolf phrase and went down this rabbit hole to thinking about eating like a bird.
I like how we have all these sayings related to animals.
And I thought, I definitely don’t line up with eating like a bird. I have friends that eat less so they don’t appear to be pigs. I actually didn’t even like that last phrase I used with the pigs, but I wanted to throw in another animal.
Anyways, I thought, I definitely don’t do that. People that are close to me know I love food. Point?
NOPE.
BACK TO THE FIRST POINTResearched the phrase… I couldn’t find anything related to it aside from the song by Duran Duran. Now, I love this song, but you mean to tell me they came up with this phrase?? I just assumed it had some historical meaning or was in some nursery rhyme way before my time.
I know!
Try-yiyiyi not to lose it….Wait, that’s from the song Reflex
Sigh…Here’s that video
