Keyless Entry System

Keyless access systems are a good method to secure your rental property, without having to use physical keys. These systems enable guests and tenants to access the building with either a code or their smartphones. They also integrate with intercoms for video and audio communication, providing different ways for people to gain access to the building. Some keyless entry systems are cloud-based, allowing them to be managed remotely and to offer more advanced features.

You can install a keyless entry system on any type of property, whether commercial or residential. First, the hardware has to be installed at each entryway. The system is then configured and managed via a central console or a smartphone application. According to Technavio the world's keyless entry market is expected to grow at an annual rate of growth between 2016 to 2022 of 11.8%. The market's growth is due to the rising demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.

Many people worry about being locked out of their homes, and so they tend to keep a spare key hidden in a secure location. This practice poses a serious security risk since criminals know where they keep their spare keys and can easily find them. To avoid this happening, it's recommended to have an entry system with a keyless lock installed at your residence. This will ensure that you won't become locked out.

Transponder Chip

The transponder, also referred to as "chip key", is a micro-chip that is located in the head part of your car keys. It's among the most important safety layers for your vehicle. The term "transponder" comes from the combination of transmitter and responder which is because, when the key is put into the ignition and turned on, the antenna ring on your vehicle sends a burst of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds with its unique identification code to the antenna ring and the car's computer will interpret that data and determine if it's a valid key.

If the key isn't a transponder the vehicle will be immobilized. The chip is protected by a polycarbonate layer that prevents it being copied or cloned with regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries various transponder keys for sale at much less cost than of dealerships selling cars.

In the 1980s, GM began to introduce transponder chips into the Corvette. This technology dramatically reduced vehicle thefts because hot-wiring became obsolete. This is the most basic explanation of the chip key. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.

Immobiliser System

The engine immobiliser (also known as the anti-theft system) is a key element of your vehicle's security. When you connect the Smart Key or ignition switch into the car, the transponder within the key transmits a number of codes. The ECU ensures that the information transmitted by the chip matches the one stored in it and then permits the engine to start.

This is the main way the immobiliser in your car prevents theft. If the chip's code is not in sync with the code on the chip, the ECU will block the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system, and stop the engine from starting. The immobiliser might also disable the starter motor or ignition coil in order to stop the engine from being started by force.

Unfortunately, the system is not 100% secure. Criminals can break the code that unlocks the car's immobiliser system, and start it up. The most recent versions of the system utilize a longer cryptographic code that will make it difficult to guess.

Car immobilisers are mandatory since 1998, however many cars had basic immobiliser systems prior to that. It is also worth noting that although an immobiliser system makes it harder to steal a car it doesn't prevent thieves from towing it away or breaking into the vehicle to get at your possessions.

Key Replacement

Losing a remote or key fob can be expensive and can be a hassle. Locksmiths must gain access to the vehicle, decode or run the VIN and then reprogramme the new replacement to wipe out any signatures from the computer for all keys that have been lost, stolen or damaged.

If your car is fitted with a security chip, or transponder, inside the key, this can make replacing it more expensive. These chips emit a signal to the car that verifies your identity as a driver, and permits the doors to unlock or the engine to start. The average cost for a replacement smart key is around $160.

ABUS strongly recommends that you register your key code within a few days of purchase to make it easy to order additional or spare keys in the future. Enter your Key Code in the checkout page, then select CANADA for your shipping country. You can also sign up a key using images of your spare key taken at specific angles.
