Man Down Safety

In most industries around the world, slips, trips and falls are the leading cause of workplace accidents. These incidents can be dangerous and fatal if not dealt with promptly and correctly.

Often in the case of lone workers, these incidents are very much out of their control as there is no one else close by to help them. This makes it very important for organisations to ensure that their lone workers have a Man Down Safety solution.

A Man Down Alarm can be triggered if a guard is in an elevated position and has not moved for a certain time period that they have selected, typically between 5 minutes and 30 minutes. lone worker monitoring system The system will send an alert to their monitor if this has not been done, this is usually shown on the dashboard and can be cancelled by the guard / lone worker at any time.

Another very useful feature is the ability to set a tilt timer, this can be used if the guard is working on a high surface where they may fall off if their balance or body position is poor. Automatic fall detection This allows them to tilt their radios up or down if they become tired, unsteady or injured and can easily be reverted back to their normal position by pressing a function key.

It is also very important for any Man Down solution to be fully compliant with the UK regulations, this means that the device should be able to detect falls AND impact and that it will activate a Man Down Alarm automatically when this has happened. This can significantly improve the outcome of any such incident and helps to save lives.
