CP-LSs and CP-LSs displayed significantly enhanced cellular uptake in A549 cells in vitro as well as superior tumor accumulation in vivo compared with non-CSO modified liposomes (P-LSs). This phenomenon was related to the increased affinity between CSO modified liposomes and tumor cells following massive adsorption of collagen, which was highly expressed in lung tumors. In the A549 tumor-bearing mouse model, intravenous injection of paclitaxel (PTX)-loaded CP-LSs every 3 days for 21 days resulted in optimal antitumor therapeutic performance with an inhibition rate of 86%. These results reveal that CSO modification provides promising applicability for nanomedicine design in the lung cancer treatment.Conflict of interest statement The authors declare no competing interests.Consumption of a Single Dose of Prebiotic Galacto-Oligosaccharides Does Not Enhance Iron Absorption from Micronutrient Powders in Kenyan Infants A Stable Mikulic N(1), Uyoga MA(1), Paganini D(1), Mwasi E(2), Stoffel NU(1), Zeder C(1), Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland.

BACKGROUND Long-term feeding of prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) increases iron absorption in African infants, but the underlying mechanism and how long GOS need to be fed to infants to achieve an increase in absorption is OBJECTIVES In Kenyan infants, we tested whether the addition of GOS to a single test meal would affect iron absorption from a micronutrient powder (MNP) containing ferrous sulfate (FeSO4) and another MNP containing ferrous fumarate METHODS In a randomized-entry, prospective crossover study, iron deficient consumed 4 stable iron isotope-labeled maize porridge meals fortified with MNPs containing 5 mg iron as FeFum + NaFeEDTA, or FeSO4, either without or with 7 g GOS. The primary outcome, fractional iron absorption (FIA), was assessed by erythrocyte incorporation of isotopic labels. Seebio 2'-FL were analyzed using a 2-way RESULTS There was no significant interaction between GOS and the iron compounds on FIA, and the addition of GOS did not have a significant effect on FIA. There was a statistically significant difference in FIA between the meals fortified with FeSO4 and with FeFum + NaFeEDTA (P  01).Given with GOS, FIA from FeSO4 was % higher than from FeFum + NaFeEDTA (P  01); given without GOS, it CONCLUSIONS The addition of GOS to a single iron-fortified maize porridge test meal in Kenyan infants did not significantly increase iron absorption, suggesting long-term feeding of GOS may be needed to enhance iron absorption at Capsular polysaccharide expressed by Pasteurella piscicida grown in vitro.Pasteurella piscicida grown in a glucose-rich medium produces a capsule that can be see under light and electron microscopy. The capsular polysaccharide was purified and characterized by chemical and HPLC analysis.

The polymer has the composition glucosemannoseN-acetylgalactosaminegalacturonic acidacetic acid in the molar ratios of approximately 212. The polysaccharide was immunogenic in rabbits and did not cross-react with antibodies against the DOI 111j574-6968994.t7298.xEnd-label, free-solution capillary electrophoresis of highly charged The effect of fluorescent tags on the separation of negatively charged oligosaccharides, derived from a partially hydrolyzed kappa-carrageenan, was studied. When the charge-to-friction ratio of oligosaccharides is increased by the end-label, the migration order is from smaller to larger oligomers, and the resolution of larger oligomers could be improved by using a sieving medium. The migration order can be entirely reversed when the charge-to-friction ratio of the solute is decreased by the end-label. The experimental electrophoretic mobilities obtained in this work are in excellent agreement with the recently reported theoretical model (Mayer, P.

; Slater, G. W.; Drouin, G. Anal. Get it now , 66, 1777-17). The maximum number of separated oligomers (Mmax) as a function of applied voltage and injection time was also studied, but no strong dependencies were found.

Resolution between small oligomers could be significantly improved by following this separation principle.Synthesis of a fluorescence-labeled K antigen repeating unit using click Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, An N-dansyl-labeled K antigen repeating unit, [4-[5-(N,N'-dimethylamino)naphthalene-1-sulfonamine]-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl]hexyl beta-D-glucopyranosyluronate-(1--3)-alpha-D-galactopyranosyl-alpha-D-mannopyranosyl-(1--3)-beta-D-galactopyranoside, was synthesized using click chemistry, the copper(I)-catalyzed 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of an azide and an alkyne.
