iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Contrary to other robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. But, just like any other mop or vacuum it could get blocked by debris such as loose tennis shoes or ribbons or play jewelry, yarn, or other objects that are loose.

You can use the iRobot Home app to label rooms and set up zones that are not allowed to enter. You can also track the progress of your mops and their battery levels.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo j7+ is a robot vacuum and mop that combine the smart mapping capabilities of iRobot along with the ability to handle spills. It has the same onboard acoustic sensor and iAdapt 2.0 Navigation as other Roomba models and maps your home seven times more quickly than previous versions. It also allows you to create Keep out Zones (for rooms which the robot should not enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms it should keep clean).

The most significant feature of the j7 is its robotic arm which keeps the mop pad locked away when it's not in use, and then lowers it to tackle carpeting or hard flooring. The idea is to avoid spraying water on the rug, and the Combo J7+ has done very well during my tests. The robot backed off when it saw a rug and didn't try to cross it, even when I moved the rug several times.

The arm comes with a 240mL tank which can be easily pulled out and filled, so it's easier to manage than mop pads on other 2-in-1 robots. It also utilizes the iRobot's PrevisionVision obstacle avoidance technology, which is more sophisticated than some models of this kind.

iRobot Combo i5

The i5+ also has dual multi-surface rubber brushes and Power-Lifting Suction to tackle dust, dirt pet hair, and staining on floors. Simply swap the Mopping Bin with a compatible cleaning product and you're ready to mop.

It will then automatically stop and return to the docking station, allowing it to recharge and complete the cleaning task at a later time. It is also voice-compatible with Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands, which is more than any competing 2-in-1 robot.

It comes with a textured finish to keep pet hair, dust and fingerprints off.

It is able to clean most debris and is great on carpets that are not bare, but it did have trouble with pet hair on carpets with low pile. It is a great choice with carpets with a high pile and is quieter than its competitors. The i3 is a bit more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it has a self-emptying station which emptys the dirtbag, refills its water reservoir, and cleans the mop pads.

This ensures that the surfaces are clean. It comes with a set of sensors and navigation abilities that help it avoid obstacles such as cords and furniture.

It also has an upgraded battery to last longer as well as self-emptying mode that decreases the frequency of emptying the dustbin. It's an excellent choice for households that require the convenience of one robot with the versatility of different cleaning modes. iRobot Combo i4
