Twilight Princess Game Review

Twilight Princess is the darkest, most serious and most serious Nintendo 3D Zelda game. It pushes the graphical display on the Wii to its limits. It's more frightening and mysterious than The Wind Waker, with no bugs-eyed pig guards or edgy pirates.

Link is pulled into a parallel dimension called Twilight Realm, where he transforms into a Hylian and a wolf while being guided by Midna.

Gameplay

The thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube system and Wii. Critics praised the game with perfect scores in various publications such as 1UP CVG EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the most enjoyable game in the series and the most viewed Zelda game on the PAL market.

Twilight Princess has a naturalistic, stylized graphics style similar to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphics engine. Twilight princess is the first game in the series with an entirely directional motion control system, instead of a fixed view like the previous games. This change was made to accommodate the Wii console's touchscreen that is based on pointing. The GameCube version comes with an area in the back of the game, with mirror-image maps, which are for those who prefer a fixed view.

After entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf and meets Midna, an unidentified creature. She informs Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts led the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she is the true ruler of Twili however, she was supplanted and cursed into her current form by Zant.

When Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle, a short cut scene shows the soldiers being killed by the shadow creatures. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle via a tunnel, and enter the Twilight Realm.

Link can move more freely in the Twilight Realm by using his wolf form. Link can also make use of his senses to navigate around the world. For instance, he can detect the spirits of deceased soldiers and other animals in the distance. He can also whistle and pick grass from specific patches to summon an animal such as an Hawk, Epona or other. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

As with earlier Zelda games, music plays a large role in Twilight Princess. Link can play instruments that are musical, such as the flute or the harp, to draw and call on various animals. Link can also use his voice to command the wolf's form. He can also use his compass as a way to help him navigate through the world.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda is full of unique and colorful characters that will leave an unforgettable impression. From hands emerging from toilets to pirates traveling across vast oceans these unique and imaginative characters are the core of the game. Twilight Princess continues in the tradition of the previous games, introducing an array of memorable characters.

Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story, who are not just interesting, but also credible. It's a major step towards the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a part in the story instead of just being a victim. NPCs like Rusl who explains why the forest is becoming more dangerous and kidnaps children, or the Ordon villagers who appear as wolves when children are kidnapped each has a distinct personality that feel authentic.

Other notable characters include Iza who runs the Boat Rental Cabin as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, the cat of Telma who helps Wolf Link locate a secret passageway through her bar and sewer system to the castle, and Faron, whose spirit guides Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and obtains the first Tear of Light.

Midna the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most intriguing characters in the game. She can change between wolf and human forms and possesses a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She is friends with Link and tells him about her experience in the twilight and how she defeated Zant the king of Twilight.

Zant is the evil sorcerer who controls the Twilight Realm. He possesses the second part of the Triforce of Wisdom. The goddesses banished him to Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and taking over their land. Zant's magic keeps him permantently in wolf form, but Midna dispells the power and allows him to transform into his human form as needed.

Epona is a more powerful horse that can be riding in both the wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle at specific grass patches in order to call the animal. (similar to Majora’s Mask). Twilight Princess is the first game in the series where players can identify their horse.

Theme

Music is a crucial element of any Zelda game. It can make a game feel massive exciting, expansive, and captivating. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its inconsistent and inconsistent soundtrack that fails to capture the emotional impact of certain moments. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and other games have captivating compositions that explode at the right moment to create a sense of majestic and eerie.

Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series' first time since Wind Waker was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the usual approach to the franchise with an approach that is minimalist in terms of music and arrangement. The majority of dungeon and field themes begin with one instrument, creating an eerie and mysterious ambiance for the player. Midna's Lament, for example utilizes a simple keyboard to induce a sense of sadness in the player.

The most well-known examples are dungeon themes that have a dark and sombre atmosphere. This is evident in Twilight Realm, which has an unsettling soundscape that could be found on an original David Lynch movie. The lack of melody and the traditional arrangement of this track emphasizes its ominous, spooky nature. Drones and strange patterns collide to create a bleak texture.

Link's song from his hometown, "Faron Woods," is a more uplifting and joyful song. This song employs a variety of soft sounds and strings to create a calm and safe feeling for the player. The song contains subtle references to the most famous scene from the franchise, because it has a melody that is reminiscent of the iconic melody that plays at the Ocarina of Time's start.

There are also a few dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on the location of the player, what they are doing, and the events that are taking place. Hyrule Castle Town has different versions of its theme for each area of the town. Central Square, for example, has an edgier version. These variations add a wonderful flavor to the world of Hyrule and add a sense of depth and immersion.

Story

The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to stop Hyrule from being sucked into the corrupted parallel dimension known as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he assumes the form of both a Hylian and an Wolf as well as being assisted by a woman whose name is Midna.

Midna was the original ruler of Twili but she was overthrown and cursed by Zant into her imp form. The Ancient Sages explain to Link and Midna that only the defeat of Ganondorf can free them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight causes the darkness to be present in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter monsters that are hostile and kidnap children. Wolf Link's keen ear helps them track the children's scent to a nearby bridge and then cross into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa to obtain the first Fused Shadow. Faron informs them of the next destination, which is the Eldin Province in the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

At the Lakebed Temple in Lanayru, Midna teleports Link to the fiery rock and uses her power to melt the ice in the bottom of Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, who was the recently dead Zora queen, appears to Link and informs him that he needs to visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to access the treasure of the Zora.

Returning from starlight princess of Time and Majora's Mask The horse Epona is able to be ridden in Twilight Princess. Link can choose the name of the horse, unlike the predetermined names in the previous games.

When they arrive in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link are able to retrieve the remaining Mirror Shards. In the Palace of Twilight, the Sages reveal that Midna is actually the real ruler of the Twili, but she had been ostracized by the monarchy and turned to an idol to gain power. The Sages advise them that they will defeat Ganondorf by bringing him to light and break the pact between the Twilight kingdom and Hyrule kingdom.
