ACM (also known as DiBond or e-panel) is an aluminum composite material that is strong and durable. It is also a cost-effective alternative to aluminum sheet.

ACM’s surfaces are resistant to corrosion, termites, sunlight, and weather. They also have a high level of adhesion for digital printing, paints, and pressure sensitive media.

Aesthetics

The evolution of architectural materials continues to influence the aesthetics and sustainability of modern buildings. Aluminum Composite Material (ACM) panels are an increasingly popular choice among designers and architects because they offer a unique blend of visual flexibility and durability. These panels are also a cost-effective option that can withstand harsh weather conditions.

Architects can choose from a variety of finishes, textures, and colors to achieve their desired look. Some textures mimic the appearance of wood or stone, while others are smooth and sleek. They can even be painted to match the color of other cladding materials.

ACM is ideal for visual merchandising, framing and archiving, commercial interiors and exteriors, and construction. It is also used as a substrate for digital and screen-printed graphics. Piedmont Plastics stocks several different grades of ACM, including DIBOND and AluPOLY. The latter is one of the flattest and most durable options for outdoor signage, with a superior surface that protects expensive digital and pressure-sensitive media.

Durability

ACM is a highly durable building material. It can withstand extreme temperatures and harsh weather conditions. It is also non-combustible. In fact, it has the highest fire protection rating on the market. In one test, Alfrex fired a nine-pound two-by-four at 50 feet per second and the ACM panels held up. This durability is especially important in the event of a disaster or natural catastrophe, as it reduces the risk of structural damage.

ACM panels are resistant to most chemical compounds and solvents. They can withstand abrasion and resist fading caused by sunlight. They can also be routed, bent and shaped for custom designs. They can be finished with a wide range of colors and finishes.

ACM panels (also known as DiBond and e-panel) are a versatile facade material that provides strength and aesthetics at a lower cost than aluminum. They are available in matte white and brushed aluminum and can be easily cut to create unique shapes and curves. These durable panels are also weather, stain, and corrosion resistant.

Lightweight

The lightweight nature of acm material makes it ideal for commercial and retail signage. It can also be used in other applications such as point of purchase displays, performance sets, and specialty vehicles. It is also a popular choice for building and construction projects, including architectural cladding and insulation.

The outer aluminum sheets of an acm panel are bonded to a plastic core, which results in a rigid and strong product. This allows the panel to resist damage from the elements, while still achieving a high strength-to-weight ratio. Additionally, it is a cost-effective solution for building projects and offers a wide range of color options.

ACM panels are easy to fabricate and install. A circular saw with a fine-toothed blade can be used to cut thinner ACM panels, while thicker panels require a more specialized cutting tool, such as a panel saw. This makes the process of installing acm material quick and easy, which is beneficial for both fabricators and installers.

Easy maintenance

ACM is a highly versatile material that can be easily fabricated without sacrificing its durability. It is used for various end-user products such as signage, point of sale displays and retail fit outs, as well as industrial machine surrounds and panels. It can also be used for wall cladding and insulation.

In addition to being lightweight, ACM is easy to maintain. Dust and other common stains wipe away easily, and the surface is resilient to chemicals such as polar solvents (e.g. acetone, MEK), aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, xylene, tolulene) and chlorinated hydrocarbons. SEVEN MARKS withstands high-additive lubricating oils.

DIBOND aluminum composite panels are one of the flattest ACM products on the market, and their superior surface protects digital and screen-printed graphics. These panels are also very durable, which helps to reduce maintenance and replacement costs. Their lightweight nature also reduces the load on a building’s structure, reducing the need for extensive structural support. This can result in significant cost savings.
