The Basic Slot Symbols

When you spin the reel on a slot machine, a series symbols will appear, and this could result in different payouts. Understanding these fundamental symbols is the first step to becoming an advanced player.

Standard reel symbols include fruit (cherries, grapes, lemons, and watermelons) and playing card symbols (10 through ace). There are bonus symbols which create bonus games or major wins.

Cleopatra

Cleopatra is a well-known persona that many like. Her story is one of love and romance, sibling rivalry taken to extremes, and the power and politics. Her image has been shown on film, in paintings, and on coins. She was described as a tragic woman, a seductive beauty who died by letting a snake bite her. This simplistic portrayal, however, obscures her true legacy and that is that she was the ruler of an independent and powerful empire.

Cleopatra, the last member of the Ptolemaic Dynasty who was the ruler of Egypt, managed to maintain its independence during a period in which other Hellenistic States were being absorbed by the Roman Empire. She was an accomplished politician, captivating orator, and accomplished poet. She was also a diplomat and an excellent administrator. When there was a shortage of food she slowed down the hoarding of grain, which earned her the respect of the people.

Coins depicting Cleopatra were minted in several cities and regions of the eastern Mediterranean, from Alexandria in Egypt to Patras in Greece. Rain Bet depict her in Mark Antony's portrait, with whom she shared an uneasy and long-lasting friendship. The portraits vary in detail from coin to coin, but they are all in line with each other and suggest the artists were following the guidelines. Cleopatra's intelligence and wit were known in addition to her shrewishness. She was fluent in other languages, in three, including Egyptian.

Cherry

Cherry is one of the most iconic symbols in slot games. It's a scatter icon in many popular video slots online and can be used to trigger bonus features. It's not the most lucrative symbol, but it's popular and has a long history.

Originally, slot machine symbols were playing cards. Charles Fey, inventor of the first slot machine designed it to resemble an actual poker machine. He used standard playing card symbols, from 10 to Ace. Then, he added bars and bells to the reels, which became the common symbols of slot machines that we are familiar with today. These symbols can be found in nearly every modern slot machine game.

As technology improved and developers were able to design more complex themes for their machines, they added new types of symbols to keep players entertained. Some of these include wild symbols, which appear randomly on the reels and substitute for other symbols to make winning combinations. The slot players also like scatter symbols, which can trigger free spins. They can increase your odds of winning by triggering bonus games, where you can win extra spins or even jackpots.

In the early 1900s gambling machines were banned. The fruit symbols we see today are a result of this prohibition. To get around these bans, the Industry Novelty Company created fruit-themed slot machines that offered gum instead of cash. The fruit symbols were popular because they were easy to recognize and they also added a sweet touch to the machine. Watermelons, lemons and cherries and grapes were among the most well-known fruit-themed slot symbols.

The lucky number seven is another classic symbol for slot machines. It has been associated with prosperity and luck for centuries in a variety of religions and beliefs around the world. Slot machines are famous for their high payouts when players land lucky combinations. The number seven has also been a favored theme in pop culture as it appears in films, songs and various other forms.

Bar & Bell

In the age of animated graphics, 3D symbols and themed games, bells and BARS are among the few casino icons that go back to the machines in their earliest days. When Charles Fey's Liberty Bell slot was mass manufactured in 1902, machines were no longer permitted to pay out coins. To circumvent this, manufacturers started to experiment with different ways to reward players. Fruit machines were initially known as candy bars and chewing gum. The bell also lasted and announced every win. The BAR symbol eventually replaced these earlier images and can be present on many modern games.

The BAR can be present in all kinds of slot machines, from classic three-reel ones to multi-line versions with five reels. Its meaning is somewhat obscure however, as it is often different based on the game's theme.

777

The 777 symbol is a symbol of a slot machine that signifies the highest possible payout. It is also a way to unlock bonus features and other rewards. Its simple and attractive design makes it a favourite among players. 777 slots also feature symbols that are related to the theme of the game. A pirate-themed slot, for example, might include an anchor, a treasure chest parrot, ship and anchor.

Slot symbols come in many different types, each with its own distinct value and function. Certain symbols are more lucrative than others, whereas others offer the same payout no matter where they appear on the reels. Standard, Wild and Multiplier are the most common symbols that are found in slot games. Each symbol has its own function in a slot machine however, all work to increase the odds of forming a winning combo.

Standard slot symbols are basic symbols that are familiar to anyone who's ever played a slot machine. The classic card suits (Diamonds, Spades, Hearts and Clubs) and the well-known fruit are the most popular. They typically have lower payouts than symbols that pay high such as scatters and bonus symbols.

Thematic reel symbols are the most frequently used high-paying symbols in slots. They match the overall theme. A slot machine with a pirate theme could have high-paying symbols such as a cannon, ship treasure chest, parrot and cannon. These symbols can help you win big!

Wild symbols are the second most frequent in slot games and act as "jokers" in the game. They can be substituted for other symbols to create winning combinations and can even increase the payout of any winning line they're part of. Some Wild symbols also function as Multipliers, increasing the payout on any winning payline by 2x or 3x. The multiplier's value is determined by the rules of the game.
