iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba by iRobot is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that works well on both plain flooring and low-pile floor carpet. It has a good suction and is able to clean all kinds of debris, but it has trouble with larger particles like rice or sand. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as resistant to tangling as the premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on its cover: 'Clean' starts a cleaning cycle and 'Dock' allows it to be put back into its charging station and 'Spot Clean' initiates the targeted cleaning. It can be controlled with a smartphone app that allows you to program or stop/start cycles as well as adjust settings. You can also connect the device with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant to control it through voice.

This vacuum is a bit slower than the others, however it's still able get into the most crevices and corners. It has a big bin, which makes it easier to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which lets you make the robot avoid certain areas, or even stop cleaning completely to stop it from getting stuck.

It's not the most effective for its price, but it's better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning capability than the Roomba 694 and it can clean both low-pile and bare carpets. top rated robot vacuum has a more durable battery and a cleaner route. It is also more durable, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, and costs less over its lifetime and charges faster than 694.

It's also worth taking a look at other models that are more expensive in the iRobot range, such as the 981 or the v7. The 981 and v7 are both more expensive but have significant improvement in cleaning efficiency, for both bare and low pile floors. They also have a bigger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily, and are easier to pair up with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robotic vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with a low pile and hard flooring. Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners and automatically boosts suction once it detects carpet. It is also effective at cleaning dirt and debris that are embedded in the middle of the pile carpet. The IQ has a tiny footprint and also a self-emptying function. If you'd like to change the floor levels or set areas that are not allowed to be used, you'll need to manually reset the map.

The IQ's application has advanced mapping and automation capabilities but it's missing no-go zones, which are available on iRobot models. The smart-pathing navigation system provides greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker allows you to operate the robot by voice commands.

During our tests, we observed that the IQ handled pet hair well. It was able to get rid of lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less efficient with shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It was able to maneuver chair legs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on floors that were not paved, but it recovered speed and was more efficient than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice over the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan, and is better at navigating around obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to remove sticky messes. On the other side the iRobot feels better-built and has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume a cleaning session from where it left off in case it runs out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.
