Jack Hamm revealed his creative genius in 1868 when he created enchanting depictions of the Ten Commandments intended to grace the pages of a children's Bible – a timeless gift to be cherished by generations to come.

In the book of Exodus in the Bible, God presented to the Israelites a framework for moral and ethical conduct: the Ten Commandments. These rulesoffer clear direction for spiritual and existential pursuits.

This document includes the Ten Decrees.

No deity shall be placed on a pedestal above Me.

Thou shalt not fashion for thyself any form of idols.

You must always honor the Lord your God and never take His name in vain.

Make sure to reserve one day a week for a special day of holiness and reverence.

Reverence your parents for the invaluable contributions they have made for your wellbeing. shenli to them through evincing your admiration for their perseverance and guidance.

Murder shall not pass through thy lips, nor fall from thy fingers.

Your fidelity shall remain untarnished; fidelity to yourself and to those that you hold dear.

Without exception, thieving is prohibited and should always be taken into consideration.

Under no circumstances should you fabricate statements to defame another person's character.

Do not yearn for your neighbor's spouse; it is neither necessary nor acceptable.

Crafted by Jack Hamm, an exquisite collage of Ten Commandment sketches brings to life the essence of these paramount edicts. With delicate finesse, each drawing within the composition is understated and handsome, forming a beguiling whole.

A man was depicted prostrating before a glimmering figure of gold- a vivid reminder of the stern decree which forbade veneration to anything impure.

The second image portrays a man carving a wooden likeness of a divine being, prompting us to recall that it's preferable to steer away from constructing physical representations of our deities.

Covering his mouth, the third illustration depicts a figure as a visual reminder to guard ourselves against using the Lord's name carelessly or with any disrespect.

Taking a shift in the week to rest and recuperate is clearly depicted in the fourth sketch featuring a man and woman giving their bodies the repose they deserve. In this depiction, it serves as a reminder to all that a regular day of R&R is necessary for both our physical and mental wellbeing.

A warm embrace between a man and a woman is depicted in the fifth sketch, serving as an ode to the essential practice of cherishing our parents.

The sixth sketch paints the picture of a person wielding a sword in hand, a warning that killing is a crime that should never be committed.

The illustration of a man and a woman in bed together illustrates why one should remain faithful in relationships. Adultery should be strongly avoided and discouraged, for it can bring about potentially irreparable damage.

A warning against taking what doesn't belong to us is evidenced in the eighth sketch, which portrays a man with his hand inside an enclosed vessel.

Glancing at the ninth representation, one could observe an illustration of a man and a woman present inside a tribunal, as if to warn us of the dire consequences of testifying erroneously against any persons near and dear.

With deep desire in his eyes, the tenth drawing reveals a man gazing at a woman. This sketch serves as a reminder that it’s never acceptable to yearn for someone else's partner.

Beautifully adorning Ten Commandments in an artistic arrangement, Hamm’s sketches are a brilliant showcase of these core regulations. Harmoniously combining creative flair with an austere yet graceful design, the result is a ravishing work of art.
