Slot missions can be a great method to acquire weapons, gear, and more. They're not easy to complete.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot is a specific slot that lets you carry pistols into an operation. Some players use this to achieve certain goals, especially those going for Suit Only. Others prefer to have the extra pistol as an extra weapon to close the gap. When using this slot, you need to remember that you will have to click the corresponding pistol category button, such as the alternative slot 2 for machine guns, to select the appropriate category. Major Expedition and Adept Rider are both active, making it much easier to use. This combo also adds a damage tick from concealed Weapon every 10 seconds as long as it is placed in.

Smuggled Item Slot

The smuggled items slot is a great feature that allows players to bring weapons and other tools into the game, but it could be improved. It's currently shaped like a pistol which makes it hard to differentiate the smuggled item slot from other slots for gear.





The smuggle slots are used to store a range of items ranging from concussion devices to explosives used in weapons to subdued concussions. These items are covertly stashed in inconspicuous places around the map and are able to be found at any time. These items are distinct from Agency Pickups and Hidden Stashes that conceal small objects within scenery and objects directly.

Mission planning is a feature available in episodic missions that allows players to discover different starting locations, smuggled items and gear slots prior to their entry into the map. As players advance through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning expand. This lets players plan the perfect task for each challenge.

Gear Slot

Early on in the game players will notice that their gear slots quickly become full, resulting in the common "Your Gear Slots are Full" message that prevents Max from selecting new equipment until the old ones are cleared or a larger space is found. The solution is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which offer more inventory space in exchange for fulfilling challenge missions. However, as many of these challenges are scattered across the globe and are easily missed it could take a long time to acquire the most inventory slots in the game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to five different gear types, which must be selected in the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In begins. Each gear item (except for the Pistol) is a part of one Gear Slot, while a grouping of similar items (such as the grouping of Grenades) only takes up one Gear Slot.

Agency Pickups

As you progress through Mission Mastery levels, you unlock various agency pickups throughout the map. These locations allow you to store items that do not fit into your concealed weapon or gear slots, and retrieve them later.

These pickups are particularly useful if you need to pass through a frisk at the end of the game, or if you are carrying a weapon that might otherwise cause suspicion. However, you can only hide one item per game at a pickup location for agencies.

This DLC also includes new asset protection and security contracts to the agency. Talk to the receptionist at the agency and stock up on snacks and other items. Then, head to the mission marker and locate a mob when you arrive.
