The use of the word clunker is a bit misleading. Many of the cars taken in trade - and destroyed - were perfectly usable vehicles. It's likely future reports will reveal many abuses of this program and black market selling of the cars or parts taken from them. That's the opinion of both dealers and critics of cash for clunkers.

Everything started out just fine, they were selling cars faster than they could ever imagine. Their service departments were busy disabling all those engines so they would be nothing but a chunk of metal. Their finance department and all their office staff were busy filling out the paperwork for the clunkers so they could get their money back from the Government. How good could this program be?

It does not require much investment for family car buyers to run companies that deal with this type of removal of junk cars. There are many such companies that operate around the state. Not only can you clear the car from your back yard and gain more space, you can also get some easy cash. These cars will be removed as the people interested bring heavy equipment to remove the vehicles from the backyard easily. This type of operation therefore serves a two-fold purpose of clearing junk and sprucing the backyard as well as giving you some money for parts that you would normally discard as junk.

If you are someone who believes that cars tell a story, pre-owned cars is your option. The Motor City provides you several alternatives when it comes to used cars. Detroiters simply love cars and experiment buying several different makes and models. junk cars for cash sell their cars every year. With the beginning of the Auto Show, there are higher chances of trade-ins so that people can buy cars that were on display. This makes the best time to buy a used car as there will be high supply of used cars and on the other side, less people will be asking for it. This puts you in the commanding position. You can negotiate more fiercely.

Surge in new-car sales to consumers who would not otherwise purchase at this time. For the upper and middle income people with good enough credit to get a car loan, gives them a down payment.

There is not a certain type of vehicle that junk yards do not buy, but they tend to be most interested in automobiles whose parts are in high demand. For example, it would probably be easier to sell a 2005 Honda to a salvage yard that offers sell car and pick up than it would be to sell a 1985 Honda.

I have been in the Automotive business for over 40 years and have seen quite a lot of good and bad in the industry, and every time the government gets involved in anything, it is usually a disaster.
