Slot missions are a great method to earn gear weapons, gear and much more. They're difficult to complete.

Concealed Weapon Slot

The concealed weapon slot lets you to bring pistols into an operation. Some players use this to aid in achieving certain goals particularly those who are going for Suit Only. If you are using this slot, it's important to keep in mind that you'll need to click the appropriate pistol category button, like the slot 2 alternative for machine guns, in order to select the appropriate category. Smuggled Item Slot

The smuggled items slot is an excellent feature that allows players to bring in weapons and tools, but it could be improved with a better option. It's currently shaped like a pistol which makes it hard to distinguish the smuggled item slot from other slots in the gear.

The smuggle slot can house an array of objects, ranging from simple concussion devices, to weapons-grade explosives. These items can be found in hidden locations throughout the map. They can also be retrieved at any time. Smuggled items are different from Agency Pickups or Hidden Stashes that hide small items in the scenery or objects.

Mission planning is an option available in the form of episodic missions. It allows players to discover different starting points as well as smuggled items and gear slots prior to stepping into the map. As players advance through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these options for planning increase. This gives players the ability to design the perfect mission for each task.

Gear Slot

In the beginning of the game, players will notice their gear slots quickly fill up, leading to the dreaded "Your Gear Slots are Full" message, which blocks Max from picking new equipment until old items are cleared or a larger space is found. The solution to this issue is the Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials which offer more inventory space in exchange for completing challenging missions. Since a lot of these challenges are overlooked and are scattered around the globe, it could take a while to get the maximum number inventory slots in the game.

The five Gear Slots of a player can be filled with up to 5 different types of gear. These must be selected from the Gear Selection menu before a Break-In can begin. Each gear item (except the Pistol) will take up one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like a group of Grenades of the same type) only has one Gear Slot.

Pickups by agencies

As you advance through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock various agency pickups on the map. These locations allow you to store items that do not fit into your concealed weapon or gear slots, and retrieve them later.

These pickups are useful when your task requires you to go through a frisk or you have a weapon with you that might otherwise raise suspicion. You are only able to hide one item in a pickup location.

This DLC also adds new security and asset protection contracts to the agency. To start these missions, simply talk to the receptionist of the agency and purchase armor and snacks. Then, walk to the stated mission marker and identify a mob at the time of arrival.
